For as many people who have called and emailed to ask about my experience with sponsoring the HARO email blast on January 20, I’m guessing that there’s an equal number who wondered, but didn’t call. Here are the answers to the most common questions.
How many clicks?
Three days later, my web counter tells me that I’ve gotten the equivalent of a 1.9% click-through rate on my sponsorship, which is a phenomenal rate of return.
How much business?
At this moment, none.
Is it worth it to sponsor?
Yes, I think it was. There are hundreds of people out there on the interwebs who now know me by name, and know my capabilities. They may not have work right now, but who’s to say that they won’t have a project in six weeks that could use my attention? I’ve met many contacts who would be excellent partners if the right project came along, people who fill gaps in my current fleet of contacts and resources.
If you knew then what you know now, would you do it again?
Yes.
