Travel Reading

I’ve already read two books on this trip, and both are worth recommending.

The first is Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen, by Christopher MacDougall. It takes everything that I thought I knew about running and tosses it out the window.

The second is The Girl Who Played with Fire, by Stieg Larsson. It’s just as dark as its predecessor, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and just as well-written. I’m already waiting for the third and final book in the series to be translated from Swedish to English, and mourn the fact that Larsson died too young.

The Tarahumara Indians also figure prominently in Daphne Miller's "The Jungle Effect" book about the health and nutrional value of indigenous diets.
