I woke up this morning with that post-Pilates hangover, the one where I can feel every single muscle in my body. I’m not in pain, I just feel like they’ve all been worked. It’s a good feeling.
I’m having a little bit of trouble with temperature regulation. When I start my morning run, it’s in the 40s. But if I just had to dress for my departure temperature, that would be fine, but the moment the sun pops up behind the houses, the temps rise dramatically. So there I was, stripping off my jacket and tying it around my waist, only to realize that the jacket zipper whacks me in the leg in a most irritating fashion. I ended up putting the jacket back on and sweating profusely for the return trip. I’m in serious need of proper cool-weather clothing.

Overall Assessment
My body seems to be a bit surprised (read: achy) by my return to strength workouts. I need to consider dropping my cardio workouts to every other day, alternating with strength. No more obsessive focus on learning how to run properly. I think I’ve found my groove, and now it’s time to move on to a more balanced workout.
Also, when you’re going to the brewpub for dinner, it never hurts to walk the 1.4 miles roundtrip. Estimated calorie deduction: 152, which almost covers the 16-ounce hefeweizen. I declined the giant burger and garlic fries (oh, the willpower!) in favor of a BBQ chicken salad that was surprisingly tasty for bar food.
