40 Days: Day 18

I work best under pressure. Today, with plenty of schedule flexibility, I found it hard to get moving. Contrast that with my Friday schedule, jam-packed from start to finish; I’ll bet anything that I hit the ground running tomorrow morning.

I finally, finally, fired up the Wii Fit and then proceeded to give myself a thorough butt-kicking. In addition to the full array of strength and yoga exercises that the Wii Fit offers, I also did enough push-ups and triceps dips that my arms nearly went limp. No, seriously. When I got into the shower, shampooing my hair took some serious effort. Tomorrow morning will be… uh… interesting.

Today’s Workout

Cardio: None.

Stretch/Strength: 45 minutes of Wii Fit stretching and strength exercises. And might I say, I consistently kick butt at warrior pose.

Nutrition

Hydration: 55 ounces.

Fruits & Veggies: 1 fruit, 4 veggies.

Net Calories: 1,132.

Overall Assessment

As I write this, I’m sitting at Panera after a client meeting, looking at my 1,132 calories and wondering if I should get a cookie, just because I can.

Getting on the Wii Fit subjected me to a weigh-in. Now, I know that the Wii tends to be notoriously inaccurate about weights, but it told me that I’ve lost 3.5 lbs since starting this effort 18 days ago. Could it be true? This sounds good, but… 1) I actually wanted the number to go up, because toned muscle weighs more than fat; and 2) where did these 3.5 lbs come from, and why are my favorite jeans still tight at the waist? Ah, the many mysteries of the human body.
