40 Days: Day 33

This is going to be a bizarre way to start a post, but I’m doing it anyway: Since arriving in Texas, I’ve eaten nothing better than the chopped vegetable salad at Nordstrom Bistro in Dallas. It had cucumbers, asparagus, tomatoes, onions, hearts of palm and zucchini tossed with sundried tomato vinaigrette, feta and these absolutely delicious basil cracker/crouton things. If I’d known how good it was going to be, I would have ordered two of them. Seriously.

Nutrition

Hydration: Tons.

Fruits & Veggies: Good. See aforementioned salad which was at least two cups of raw veggies.

Net Calories: High. I had a bizarre “flatbread chicken quesadilla” for lunch, and I’m pretty sure that had about 30,000 calories in cheese alone.

Overall Assessment

I opted for mall walking tonight, just to get out of the room (I would have called it “shopping” except that I was strangely disinterested in everything I saw). Lame though it may be, mall walking does count as exercise. Sort of.

I’m supposed to do a 10k tomorrow morning. I doubt that my foot can handle that running, but if I get up early enough I think that I could walk it and still have time to make it to the first session at 9:00.

Alisa: sooo glad you found some comfort food (and in a better form than I’d've had in Texas—fantasizing about mashed potatoes and ribs. Way to walk the mall. Please take care of yourself and don’t push to the 10K if your body sez no.
