I never intended to post every day during this challenge, but here I am, wondering how six days managed to pass me by.
The good news: I’ve worked out three times in six days. Two of the three days off were work-related and one was a planned rest day. I’ve cleared out my inbox so that I’m down to just nine things that require my attention. I’ve cooked new meals, had two dinners with friends, went out for a fantastic date night with my husband and baked cookies with my 3-year-old. Mentally, I don’t think I’ve ever been in such a good place as the holidays approached.
The bad news: Oh, the things I’ve been putting off! My office is a mess, I haven’t set up my new printer/copier/scanner, and I haven’t done the writing that I really want to do. I also need to sit down and conduct a thoughtful end-of-year review where I analyze what I did right, what I did wrong and how I can grow and learn from it in 2010. So for as much as I dread it, this week will be dedicated to housekeeping (businesskeeping?) exercises to catch up, close out and start the new year right.
I’ll be traveling for the holiday, and I won’t be taking my laptop. I’ll learn to manage with only paper, pen and my brain to guide me. I’m hoping to find renewed power in disconnecting.
